Kunzite, a pink variety of spodumene, is a crystal known for its range of colors, including green, blue, and yellow. Its discovery is relatively recent, named after the American mineralogist and jeweler George Frederick Kunz, who identified it among other spodumene samples. Interestingly, President Kennedy acquired a 47-carat kunzite as a gift for his wife, although he passed away before presenting it to her.
